Kidnapping has become a major security concern in Nigeria, particularly in the southern region. Criminals often target high-value individuals, including foreign nationals, wealthy businessmen, and religious leaders. The rise in kidnapping has been linked to the country’s economic challenges, as well as the proliferation of illegal arms.

The government has taken steps to address the problem, including deploying additional security personnel to affected areas and introducing stricter penalties for convicted kidnappers. However, much more needs to be done to tackle this issue, including addressing the root causes and providing alternative sources of income for vulnerable populations.

In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers are with the kidnapped pastor and instructor, as well as their families and loved ones. We call on the authorities to act swiftly to ensure their safe return, and to take decisive action to address the underlying security challenges facing Nigeria.
