Troops of Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have rescued six people abducted in separate incidents along the Benue-Taraba corridor.
The victims were rescued around Gbise community in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, according to the task force.
Acting Media Information Officer of OPWS, Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Saturday in Makurdi.
Five Abducted Along Chenchengi-Takum Road
Zubairu said five of the victims were abducted along the Chenchengi-Takum road, a route connecting communities in Benue and Taraba states.
The sixth victim was reportedly abducted from his residence in Takum, Taraba State.
The operation resulted in the rescue of all six victims, according to the military task force.
The development adds to ongoing security operations along the Benue-Taraba axis, where security agencies have continued to conduct operations against criminal and kidnapping networks.
