A man was killed by gunmen in the Lagos State neighborhood of Iyana Ipaja who are thought to be cult members.
This occurred just three days after unidentified gunmen also murdered a police officer in the State’s Ikorodu region, according to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the state police.
In order to catch the offenders, Hundeyin noted that investigations had started.
He stated that as soon as they got there, the investigators saw the man lying in a pool of his own blood with a knife dangling from his neck.
According to Hundeyin, the scene included a spent shell and an Automated Machine Teller (ATM) card bearing the name Babatunde Adegoke.
He claimed that the body had been brought to the mainland morgue for an autopsy.
Police spokesman in Lagos State, SP Benjamin Hundeyin added that three other police operatives were also seriously injured during the Friday attack.
Police officers from the Imota Police Division in the Ikorodu neighborhood were on patrol when they were attacked by the attackers at Emuren Junction on the nearby Itokin Road.
According to local sources, the attackers—possibly hired help for property speculators—ambushed the police patrol team, opened fire, murdered one person there and then fled with his rifle.
